Sausage & Butternut Squash Pasta

From ages 3-4 I had to hide vegetables in food to give Ralph, it just wasn’t worth the battle during these years. Now he’s started school and is much more understanding, we talk about what I put into his food, he even chose the butternut squash for this recipe and helped cut it open to see what was inside.

We talk about how it’s tastes similar to Mac n Cheese but with the added benefit of the squash. I don’t hide anything from him now. I saw somewhere that children’s tastebuds change every two weeks so I’ll try something and say ‘oh I like it this week, or no, this week it’s too bitter’ and we talk about the different flavour profiles. It really helps him to try everything!
