Notes

Top tips- Half legs of lamb are always reduced at the supermarket. Purchase and keep in the freezer until you have 2. I always cook 2 as it provides a great amount of lamb which can be frozen for other meals (Lancashire hotpot coming soon). As soon as it comes out of the slow cooker, allow to cool then strip the meat, add to a food bag, label and freeze. Cooking two also provides an excellent volume of stock which can also be frozen the same way, you can blend this straight in the slow cooker- as you can see there isn’t a huge amount of fat once set in the fridge over night so setting it like this isn’t essential.
